Webinar Tomorrow: Unpacking CMS's Proposed Nursing Home Staffing Rule

Join us this Wednesday, September 13th at 2:00pm ET as we unpack CMS's Notice of Proposed Rule Making (NPRM) that would implement a minimum staffing standard in nursing homes. We will walk you through the rule and its provisions. Additionally, the rule relies heavily on a staffing study conducted last year. We will explain this study and how CMS used it to come to the proposed standard in the rule. This webinar is the first step in a series of events that will provide you with the information necessary to comment and make this rule stronger.

Nursing Home Residents: Make Your Voice Heard by Sept. 18th

With the release of the proposed nursing home staffing standard by CMS, it is critical that CMS, federal and state legislators, and other policymakers hear from nursing home residents about the importance of adequate staffing.

Nursing home residents: complete this survey, by September 18th, to share how staffing levels impact your daily life as a nursing home resident.
Please share this survey with nursing home residents in your community.

The answers will be used in Consumer Voice's advocacy work; your contact information or identifying details will never be shared without your consent.

Thank you to all those who have already completed the survey!

Webinar on the National Paralysis Resource Center

The National Long-Term Care Ombudsman Resource Center (NORC) hosts quarterly live technical assistance (TA) dialogues.  This quarter's TA Talk is open to Ombudsman program representatives and other interested advocates.

Join NORC on Thursday, September 21 at 2:00pm ET for An Introduction to the National Paralysis Resource Center. The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation National Paralysis Resource Center (NPRC) has provided free, comprehensive information and support to the paralysis community for over twenty years. This TA Talk will explore the many resources offered by the NPRC to empower people living with paralysis, their families, and caregivers to live independent, healthy, and fulfilling lives.

An in-depth overview of the NPRC’s programs and materials, including the Information Specialist Team, Peer & Family Support Program, Military & Veterans Program, Paralysis Resource Guide, and more, will be presented. Attendees will gain an understanding of how these resources can benefit people living with paralysis, their families, and caregivers along with how to access these vital supports.
