Call for Session Proposals for the 2024 Consumer Voice Conference

Join us for the 2024 Consumer Voice Conference at Hotel Nikko in San Francisco, California, September 23-26, 2024. Consumer Voice's Annual Conference educates and empowers long-term care consumers and consumer advocates.

We are seeking proposals for conference sessions that
create an engaging, informative conference agenda that provides resources, tools, opportunities for discussion, and strategies our attendees can incorporate in their life and/or advocacy.

Two easy steps to submit a proposal:

  1. Review the Call for Proposals and Presenter Requirements.
  2. Submit your proposal via Survey Monkey. NOTE: You will not be able to save incomplete submissions in SurveyMonkey, so you may want to review and print or save the PDF version of the proposal questions so you can plan your responses prior to starting the submission.

Proposals are due by March 1, 2024.

Resource Highlight: Advocating for Rights and Better Care in Nursing Homes: Tips for Residents and Families

Screenshot 2024-01-09 135718.pngConsumer Voice's fact sheet, Advocating for Rights and Better Care, provides tips for resident and families for advocating for change in their nursing facilities and advocacy strategies for impacting long-term care policy. Nursing home residents have the right to quality, person-centered care, but too often, residents find themselves in situations where their rights are being violated and their needs are not being met. It is important to know the steps to take to advocate for yourself or your loved one when this happens. If things go wrong, there are specific actions you can and should take to try and change the situation within the facility. There are also ways to advocate for change on a broader level outside of the facility.
