Older Americans Month: Powered by Connection

OAM 2024Older Americans Month is held each year in May.  This year's theme is Powered by Connection, which recognizes the profound impact that meaningful relationships and social connections have on our health and well-being. The theme will explore the vital role that connectedness plays in supporting independence and aging in place by combatting isolation, loneliness, and other issues.  The Administration for Community Living has posted information to help prepare for this year's celebration.

Consumer Voice Webinar Thursday on Using Data to Protect Nursing Home Residents

Join Consumer Voice this Thursday, January 25th at 3:00pm ET for a webinar, "Using Data to Protect Nursing Home Residents."  Too often state and federal regulators fail to use data to protect nursing home residents from poor care and unscrupulous providers. From ownership, to staffing, to finances, regulators sit upon a trove of nursing home data that could be used to not only hold facilities accountable for poor care, but also help prevent catastrophic harm before it happens. Experts will discuss the various data sources that could be used proactively to help protect residents.
